Roblox clothing fees

Uploading a classic shirt, pair of pants or t-shirt costs 80 Robux per submission, whether or not it ever sells. Putting it on sale costs a further 10 Robux advance, which is rebated as it sells. On each sale you keep 30% of the price. All three changed on 14 July 2026, when Roblox put 2D clothing on the same terms as 3D.

Checked against Roblox’s own sources on 11 August 2026.

How many sales the upload fee costs you

The 80 Robux is spent before anyone sees the item, and you earn it back 30 Robux in every 100. So the break-even point depends entirely on what you charge:

Sale priceYou keep, per saleSales to cover the 80 Robux
5 Robux1.5 Robux54
10 Robux3.0 Robux27
25 Robux7.5 Robux11
50 Robux15.0 Robux6
100 Robux30.0 Robux3

That is the change people are angry about, in one table. It is not the fee on its own — it is the fee arriving at the same time as the share dropping, so the number of sales needed to break even went up sharply at the cheap end of the catalogue.

Roblox sets the allowed price range on a Creator Dashboard page that needs a login, so the prices above are illustrative rather than a claim about the minimum. Check your own range before pricing.

Why items went off sale on 1 August 2026

Clothing published before the change stayed on sale until 31 July 2026. From 1 August, anything whose creator did not meet the new requirements — principally the Plus or Premium subscription needed to sell — was taken off sale. Nothing was deleted: the items still exist and can be listed again once the account qualifies.

The fee is per upload, so the expensive mistake is uploading twice. A rejected or wrongly sized file costs the same 80 Robux as a good one. Roblox Clothes Maker exports a correctly sized 585×559 PNG with clean edges, so the file you pay to upload is one you can sell. Open the editor.
